Anthony (Tony) Amoroso founded the Greater Rochester Jazz Orchestra with Dr. Gary Kuhn in 2002. The band has performed throughout Monroe County, NY ever since. Originally under the music direction of Dave Rivello (of the Eastman School of Music), the band quickly gained a reputation for excellence.  The band’s high musical standards have been maintained by subsequent music directors; Ron Bowks, Yano Calabro and currently, Tom Pesciotta. 

 Tony has played with the New Horizons Concert Band and the New Horizons Dance Band.  His influences have been Count Basie and his Band, Donald Piccolo, Joe Romano and Paul Desmond.

 Tony has served his community with a long, distinguished career in the legal profession.  He earned his B.S. at St. Bonaventure Univ. 1958. Served in the U.S. Army doing Research and Development at the Army Chemical Center, Edgewood, MD. He attended Law School at St. John’s University, Brooklyn N.Y. and received J.D. Degree in 1966. He was employed at the Firm of Laverne, Sortino and Noto until !968 and was assistant District Attorney, Monroe County N.Y. assigned to all Courts, and was a member of the Trial and Grand Jury Bureaus. In 1976 he worked for Karz & Dinolfo, entered private practice and then formed a new Association; Odorisi, Bergin and Amoroso. He also served as  House Counsel to RES Exhibit Services.

Tom Pesciotta

Tom graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston with degrees in Music Composition and Music Education. He played in bands throughout New England from 1974 until 1984 when he moved to Rochester. Since 1985 Tom has played in a variety of bands around the Rochester area and across western New York. He joined the GRJO (now known as The Syndicate Jazz Band) in 2003 and became Music Director of the band in 2011. The band performs annually at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival and continues to support jazz throughout the Rochester area in the large jazz ensemble format. Tom has recently founded the Jazz Composers Syndicate for the purpose of promoting composers of large-scale compositions for the jazz ensemble.

Corinn Pedrone

Corinn has been a local music teacher for many years. From an early age she studied piano and saxophone at the Eastman School of Music, Nazareth College of Rochester, and ultimately received a Masters of Music degree from Northwestern University where she studied saxophone with Fred Hemke. Corinn maintains a private studio and also teaches at the Music Store in Webster. Corrinn joined the Syndicate Jazz Band in 2015 and also plays with Your American Jukebox, The Music Makers, Coda Combo, and is the founder and directer of Shahin Swings–the Raymond J. Shahin tribute band.

Kojun is a senior software and integration engineer at Carestream Health, Inc.  Though a Computer Science major at Oklahoma State University, he also studied saxophone and flute, and was active in the OSU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Saxophone Quartet.  In addition to playing woodwinds in the Syndicate Jazz Band, he is also a bassoonist in the Honeoye Falls Community Concert Band, saxophonist/clarinetist in the Shahin Swings Big Band, and studies with Nancy Boone-Bahr (saxophone) and Richard DeLaney (jazz) at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance.  Fun Fact:  Kojun is also an ice hockey goalie, playing and coaching throughout the Rochester area.

Vic CiaraldiVic is the Chief Financial Officer for Frontier Abstract & Research Services Inc.  He holds an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MS degree from the University of Rochester.  Vic played the clarinet in high school, learned to play the saxophone in 1999 and has studied jazz at the Nazareth College and Eastman Community Music Schools.  Gerry Mulligan, Pepper Adams and Harry Carney are his favorite baritone saxophone players.  He has been a member of the Syndicate Jazz Band for nine years
